Pancake and Sausage Breakfast

Mt. Pulaski Christian Church will host the Pancake and Sausage Breakfast at the Mt. Pulaski Fall Festival, under the big tent,  on Saturday, September 11, 2010. The breakfast will be $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for children 4-10 years old and FREE for children 3 and under.  We will be serving from 7-10:30 a.m.  We are looking for volunteers to help with the breakfast and have place sign-up sheets in the foyer.  Please come and enjoy the breakfast with us!

 

MPCC Float for the Fall Festival Parade

We are looking for someone who would like to oversee and/or help with the design and building of a Float for the Fall Festival Parade.  If you may be interested in doing a float for the church, please contact the church office at 217-792-5417.

 

Sr. Citizens and Friends

- Sunday, July 11, 2010
  • The "River Life Gospel Dinner Cruise" on the Spirit of Peoria Riverboat on Friday evening, September 17th.  Tickets are $40.00 and include dinner and a performance by Rachel West Kramer.  We will leave at 5:15 p.m.  Reservations must be in by Sunday, August 15th.

 

  • Midwest Seniors Conference on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the Catlin Church of Christ in Catlin, IL.  The conference is from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with continental breakfast and lunch included.  Cost of the conference is $15.00.  We will leave at 6:15 a.m.  The main speaker will be Bob Russell from Southeast Christian Church in Lousiville, KY.  Praise and Worship will be with Mike & Connie Percifield from Indianapolis, IN and Special Music is featured by Common Bond Quartet from Mount Sterling, KY.  There are 6 electives available, you choose 3 to attend.  Information regarding each elective is available on your registration card.  Please see Teresa in the office to register or call 217-792-5417 or 217-791-7095 for further information.  To receive early bird registration fee, please register and pay by August 22nd.

 

  • Tuesday, October 5th will be attending Dinner and Piano Concert of Hymns "...Making Melody in Your Heart..." .  I will let you know the details as soon as they are available.

 

  • Sr. Citizen's and Friends will be traveling to Branson, MO November 16, 17 and 18, 2010  We have a great line-up of shows this year!  Shows, meals, rooms and travel are all covered for one low price.  A flyer with detailed information is available in the south hallway and front foyer.  SIGN UP as soon as possible!! 

 

  • The first of December will be Christmas in the Chapel at Lincoln Christian University.  I will let you know the details as soon as they are available.

Small Groups

We encourage you to get involved in a small group this fall.  We have sign-up sheets in the foyer.  Space is limited to 12 in each group, so sign up as soon as you are able.  These groups will meet for 10 weeks, September-November.

Here are the days, leaders and topics for groups being offered:

  • Sunday evening, beginning October 3: Mike Nichols-The Ten Commandments
  • Sunday evening, beginning September 12: Jerry Pippinger and Jack & Jo Hilliard-Basics for New Believers
  • Sunday evening, beginning September 19: Tracy Dyer
  • Monday evening, beginning September 13: Gary Edwards-Prayer
  • Monday evening, beginning Mid-September: Les Evens and Todd Deibert (Lincoln)-TBA
  • Wednesday evening, beginning September 15: Pat Straumann-The Ten Commandments
  • Wednesday evening, beginning September 22: Kevin Erickson and Mark Myers-TBA
  • Friday evenings, beginning September 17: Kris Davis (Elkhart)-The Truth Project

Small Groups help a church build community and commitment, so get involved, not only for your own sake, but for the sake of a healthy church.  If we need to form more groups, we will do just that!  See Mark if you have any questions.

 

Welcome Home Fikirte and Konjit Mott!

You are invited to an Adoption Shower/Welcome Home Party for Fikirte and Konjit Sunday, September 19th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center.  A sign-up has been placed in the foyer to let us know that you would like to donate a gift basket to be used as a centerpiece at the party.  We will then give the basket to the Mott family.  If you would like more information, clothing sizes for the girls or are interested in helping, please contact Ashley Combs 217-737-4793, Jo Hilliard 217-341-7089 or Laura Wakeman 217-519-3986.  Thank you!

 

Youth Scholarships

Little Galilee Scholarships:  For any student to go to any one week of camp of their choosing for 1/2 price.  Please see Rob (children) or Les (Jr./Sr. High) to pick up and return to them a voucher for your week of camp to receive your 1/2 price week.

2 or More Scholarships:  For any family who has 2 or more students going to the same exact event at the same time with the youth group.  First student is full price and 2nd student is 1/2 price.  Parents, please see Les to request this scholarship.

 

Blood Pressure Screenings

Rhonda Mattern will be performing Blood Pressure Screenings on the first Sunday of each month in the Prayer Room located off of the foyer.  She will be in the Prayer Room following both the 1st and 2nd services.  Rhonda is a part of the Parish Nurse Community of Central Illinois bringing health care home to our communities.
